Kathy was born in Petaluma, CA, a California native. Concord was home through Ygnacio Valley High School, after which came college at Diablo Valley College, and Cal-State Hayward—resulting in a B.A. in English as well as a teaching credential that allowed her to teach grades 2,3,4,5.and 6 in the Hayward School District. At Cal-State she also met husband Bruce, with whom she has been married for 55 years, adding three sons and five granddaughters to the population. Retired for 10 years, she enjoys a peaceful life playing with grandkids and helping out with Literacy Plus.
