Stephen Omondi is a Moderate / severe special education teacher at John Horner Middle school. Stephen earned a multiple subject special education credential from San Jose State University and a Human Development Bachelors from California State University East Bay.
Stephen Began volunteering as a Literacy Plus tutor in 2011 at the City of Hayward public Library.
He received the Hearts of Hayward volunteer award in 2014 and commendations from the Late Supervisor Richard Valle’s Office to certificates of recognition from the California State Legislature.
During his time off teaching, Stephen and his wife help educate communities and families on how to manage their finances as Licensed Financial Professionals. He is a strong advocate for education and has been campaiging to help break the cycle of intergenerational illiteracy.
Stephen continues to serve on the city of Hayward Literacy Plus Council Board as the president.
